Elizabeth Sartor, L.Ac., Dipl. OM, MSTCM

Elizabeth has lived a holistic lifestyle for over 14 years and utilizes it in much of her practice. She recognized her passion for helping others at a very young age. As a little girl, Elizabeth enjoyed being the family masseuse and counselor. Through these experiences, she has gained a deep appreciation for good health, emotional well being and balance. Elizabeth attributes her interest in natural medicine and healing to her grandmother who shared old family remedies and taught her the importance of patience and compassion. She believes her job is to be a guide in the healing process and that the true healer is within each individual. Elizabeth discovered Chinese Medicine more than a decade ago and was enamored by its amazing ability to encourage healing on every level; mind, body and spirit. She feels it’s very important to empower each person through education. Elizabeth is a great listener and firmly believes that communication between the practitioner and patient is the key to successful outcomes. She utilizes acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, nutritional therapy and other modalities such as moxibustion, fire cupping, tui na massage and more. Each session is tailored to the specific needs of each individual. Elizabeth received her Masters of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine. This is a four-year program that consists of 2,850 hours of education including 990 hours of clinical practice. She earned certifications in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine and is titled as a Diplomat of Oriental Medicine from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Acupuncture is a comprehensive healthcare system that originated in China over 2,300 years ago. It can be used to treat a variety of acute or chronic ailments, strengthen the immune system, and relieve pain.

Initial Visit 1.5-2 hours includes:

After gathering information about your medical history, goals, examination, feeling your pulse and looking at your tongue, Elizabeth will insert extremely fine, stainless steel, sterile needles into specific points along the meridians (energetic pathways) of your head & body. The insertion of needles signals the body to correct imbalances in the flow of Qi (life energy), and restore health and well-being. Acupuncture is very relaxing and most people describe it as a guided or gifted meditation, feeling rejuvenated and calm after each session.

Other, techniques that may be used during treatments include: Cupping – a warm glass cup that is applied to the neck, shoulders, back, abdomen or legs that creates, a suction on the skin which triggers lymphatic circulation and rids the body of stagnation or toxins. Moxibustion--warming an area or point with the herb mugwort or in combination with herbs such as aconite or ginger; Tui Na--Chinese massage; and the stimulation of Acupuncture points with mild electrical current or low-level lasers.
